Andrea Lurier, PhD
Counseling Psychologist
I am a licensed psychologist and work from a psychodynamic perspective. My role is to provide an emotionally safe space to nurture the growth of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Within this therapeutic relationship, together we will think about and get a clearer understanding of the many layers that make up who you are – your thoughts, feelings, experiences – all the things that shape how you live in the world and influence the nature and quality of your relationships.
Therapy is an opportunity to explore, understand and integrate some of the more hidden, overlooked aspects of ourselves as I believe these are keys to understanding depression, anxiety, and anger and all the things in life that make us unhappy, feel stuck or behave in ways we know aren’t ‘good for us.’ I believe as we more clearly understand and accept ourselves we are in a better frame of mind to make caring, thoughtful choices. The hope is authentic, lasting change and life with deeper meaning, intimacy, satisfaction and growth.
My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal and relational struggles as well as difficulties navigating major life transitions. I currently work with young adults and adults. I have extensive experience in grief work and am a Certified Thanatologist.
